Water Science Technologies, a division of Italmatch USA, is seeking a Warehouse Manager for its Miles City, MT location.
Description
This Warehouse Manager oversees plant operations to meet the company's business, economic, and compliance targets, and is responsible for setting both tactical and strategic direction. This role ensures that operations comply with local, state, and federal governmental regulations, that all products are produced in accordance with specifications and expectations and executes initiatives to enhance overall operational performance. The Warehouse Manager sets the direction of the plant, obtains and prioritizes resources to serve customers, and ensures the company meets its objectives.
What You Will Do in Your Role
Production Management:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the chemical production facility, ensuring smooth, continuous, and efficient production of chemicals. Manage production scheduling, resource allocation, and equipment utilization to meet production targets and deadlines. Implement best practices to optimize production efficiency, minimize downtime, and reduce costs.
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality regulations, including local, state, and federal laws. Promote a strong safety culture by leading safety training, conducting regular safety audits, and ensuring that all employees follow HSE protocols. Investigate and resolve any safety incidents or environmental concerns, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Team Leadership and Staff Development:
Lead, develop, and manage a team of production operators. Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to foster a high-performing and motivated team. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment that promotes employee engagement and retention.
Quality Assurance and Control:
Monitor and ensure that all chemical products meet required quality standards and specifications. Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) Regional team to address any quality issues and ensure continuous product improvement. Implement process improvements to enhance product consistency and reduce variability.
Budget and Resource Management :
Helps in the development and day-to-day management of the site’s operational budget, ensuring that costs are controlled and resources are efficiently utilized.
Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:
Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation as required by regulatory authorities. Ensure all processes and activities comply with relevant industry standards and certifications (e.g., ISO, OSHA, EPA regulations).
Continuous Improvement:
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing productivity, safety, and cost-efficiency. Identify areas for improvement in processes, workflows, and production methods and implement changes to drive operational excellence.
Stakeholder Communication:
Collaborate with senior management, operations teams, and other departments (e.g., engineering, maintenance, logistics) to align site operations with overall business objectives. Provide regular updates to senior leadership on production performance, challenges, and strategic initiatives
Basic Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and mechanical aptitude skills
• Must know about pumps, valves, hoses, tanks, etc., as they relate to chemical production.
• Practical written and oral communication skills
• Ability to act independently and on own initiative.
• Preferred experience in SAP or similar ERP systems. Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Minimal travel required.
• Routinely required to reach with hands and arms, squat, turn/twist, or reach, lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
