Job Description

The TLC Tech is responsible for assisting clinical staff and members of the interprofessional healthcare team, as assigned, under the direct supervision of clinical staff within inpatient setting. This position performs delegated activities that include but are not limited to patient mobility and other patient maneuvers assisting patients in functional activities, transporting patients/equipment to and from treatment areas, maintaining equipment and supplying procurement, and a variety of basic clerical functions. Primary focus is to respond to and complete requests as outlined by the department scope of service utilizing the Epic Transport Command Center automated dispatching system. Practicing safe patient handling and mobility standards emphasizing minimum manual lifting, Transport & Logistic Center Technicians work in conjunction and under the guidance of nursing and other medical personnel to ensure transfers, lifts and other patient maneuvers are safe for staff and patients. These activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard free, clean environment that facilitates quality patient focused care. This position may cross train with other roles to support department specific needs.

This posting is for multiple openings of a Patient Transporter at Providence Alaska Medical Center, AK. We offer several openings for various FTEs and shifts. We are hiring for the following positions in the Department:

  • Patient Transporter - Full-Time (1.0 FTE, Variable Shift, 40 Hours Per Week)

  • Patient Transporter - Part-Time (0.6 FTE, Variable Shift, 24 Hours Per Week)

  • Patient Transporter - Per Diem (0.01 FTE, Variable Shift, Hours Per Week are as needed)
