About Locum Neurologist Jobs:

General Job Responsibilities:  

• Evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with neurological disorders, including epilepsy, stroke, neurodegenerative diseases and multiple sclerosis.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as EEGs, EMGs and lumbar punctures. 
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans. 
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. 
• Provide emergency care and manage critical situations effectively. 
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records. 

Skills:  

• Comprehensive knowledge of neurological diseases and disorders, and their diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. 
• Ability to interpret complex neurological data. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Proficiency in performing and interpreting neurological assessments and procedures. 
• Collaborative skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team. 
• Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams. 

Minimum Education Requirements:  

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school. 
• Residency training program in neurology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). 
• Fellowship in in a subspecialty of neurology may be required.

License & Certifications:  

• Board certification in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP). 
• Active and unrestricted medical license in Washington.

Experience:  

• While specific requirements may vary, most locum neurologist positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting.
