Job Description and Duties

Under the direct supervision of the School Principal or his/her designee and the operational direction of the Senior Librarian, the Library Technical Assistant (LTA) is responsible for the operation of a leisure book distribution service in the Reception Center housing units. The LTA maintains order, supervises conduct, protects and maintains safety of persons and property relating to the library operation.  The LTA is responsible for inventories, library reports and record keeping. Limited term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.

Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
