Position Summary The Hot Foods Associate plays an important role in supporting our back-of-house kitchen operations. This position involves preparing cooked foods, following established recipes, maintaining product quality, ensuring proper food safety standards, and supporting the department with stocking, cleaning, and production tasks. The Hot Foods Associate helps ensure that our customers receive fresh, delicious, and consistent hot food options every day.
Key Responsibilities • Prepare hot foods according to Caputo’s recipes and production standards.
• Cook, portion, label, and package prepared foods for the hot case and grab-and-go section.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, ovens, fryers, steamers, and warmers safely and correctly.
• Maintain clean, organized workstations and follow strict sanitation and food safety guidelines.
• Rotate products using FIFO and ensure accurate dating, labeling, and freshness.
• Assist with stocking and replenishing the hot foods area throughout the day.
• Work collaboratively with team members to support production needs and department goals.
• Complete daily inventory and food orders.
• Scan shrinkage
• Take catering orders from customers
Qualifications & Skills • Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred but not required.
• Basic cooking or food-preparation skills and willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, warm kitchen environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
