Job Description

We start early in our house as the children leave for school around 7.40am everyday. Alice (Mother) will wake and dress the children and will need your help getting them ready after breakfast (teeth brushing, shoes on) to get in the car, ready for school. Hours of work: 7.30am to 9.30am long break 3pm - 5.30pm Mon to Fri. There is long break in the middle of the day for you to do as you choose, as long as you have tidied and cleaned after the kids. We would like you to pick up the children on time at 3pm at their local school, which is less than a mile away. We would like you to help us half day on Saturday, otherwise, evenings and weekends are your own. We would like to organize a regular babysitting evening when the children so we can have a date-night once a week. Duties and responsibilities would include: Supervision of the children - Looking after the children's needs, welfare, development and most importantly, health and safety Driving the children safely to and from their pre-school, classes and playdates (7:30-8am drop-off / 3pm pick-up) If needed, helping Alice (mother) get the children to get dressed before school and preparing their school satchels and lunch. Supporting the children with reading, writing and crafts. Helping the children to acquire new skills such as tying shoe laces, brushing teeth, using a knife and fork. Planning fun and age appropriate activities such as arts, crafts, baking/cooking. Taking children to activities - when they are not in school. Organising playdates Playing games, inside and out - weather dependent Taking the children to the park, play centres or museums in Austin. Encouraging development in skills such as reading, writing, numbers drawing, music, dressing, telling the time, etc Helping and supporting their birthday celebrations and fun activities around holidays such as Halloween. Strict encouragement of good manners - please, thank you, kindness to strangers, hello and goodbye, sharing toys with others. Typical Nursery Duties: There will be certain duties which are a standard part of your role, as the children will be in class most days. These are household tasks related to taking care of Pia and Raphaël, including: Making/changing the children's beds and keeping their rooms clean and tidy Keeping the playroom and their bedroom cupboard/drawers clean, tidy and organized. Doing the children's laundry. In the afternoon, preparing and cooking healthy meals/snacks for the children (Hello Fresh) and clearing up afterwards. Cleaning up after arts/crafts/cooking activities. Ensuring the restroom/bathroom is clean and tidy after use with the children Preparing packed lunches or snacks to eat during activities, trips or outings (plus unpacking and cleaning after use) Helping Alice to pack for the children when they go on trips Putting away the children's books, clothes, toys after use Vacuuming and / or sweeping round the areas in which the children have been playing/eating in, at the end of the day - this includes the dining, lounge areas, cloakroom and car. Helping Alice (Mother) unpack after day or weekend trips. Keeping us informed on a daily basis of the children's activities, progress and other relevant information.
